Some days can be just another day. going through the motions of life and not really stopping to see the sweetness that i have in my little everyday things. I have really been thinking about being present lately. Being Present with my kids, Being Present with my husband, Being present in my day to day. i can sometimes just be in coast mode and just 'do' what i need to be doing, dishes, laundry, email, clean up. but i really want to be present and recognize the special things in life. my kids will only be this way for today and tommarow brings something new. and soon it will bring a new little to this house. i dont want them to remember mommy always checking something off her list and not stopping to just sit on the floor with them and play.
I dont want to just walk by the pretty flowers we planted and watched grow by our front door. I want to stop, like they do, and notice each color, the smell and the bugs on them...
i dont want to just push them from thing to thing and miss out on the moment in between when i can get distracted with moving on
I dont want to forget how much they ask for and love waffles for breakfast
and how sweet and innocent a little boy can be. There is something so special about freshly picked flowers from your little boy. My sister in law asked if i wanted a pair of scissors to cut them down and i said no. these were perfect in his eyes.
. roots and all. and they were perfect in mine too:)

Wonderful post! We all are guilty of NOT stopping to enjoy the small things in life.
So very true!
i love this post! :)
I don't even have kids but totally understand about the daily routine and just sailing right trough each day (it's been driving me crazy lately).
What is it about little boys picking flowers? They aren't told "give your mom flowers because it's what you should do". They just do it, like they see these pretty flowers and they remind them of their pretty mom. It's like instinct, you don't see them picking flowers for dad :) and I think it's even sweeter than receiving them from your husband.

Hey there!
Sorry to be getting back to you so late...I have been on a bit of break and just noticed your comment! His bedding is Forest Friends by carters and I got it at babysupermall.com
I have been rearranging a few things in his room this past week and hope to show some more pictures soon. Also, I plan on selling a few of the pieces on ebay, but if you are interested let me know!
Thanks so much for stopping by, made my day :)
